“You RUN You was created because I am passionate about not just helping people improve their overall running fitness, but tailoring their running life to fit their every day life. I love that running is part of my daily lifestyle, and want to promote that for all runners at all experience levels.” - BK

My Background

Hi! I’m Bridget Karg, founder and Head Coach at “You RUN You”. Running started for me as a way to lose weight, but quickly turned into a lifestyle. I am now a long time endurance runner with over a decade of racing experience (and cool medals to prove it!). I am an RRCA Certified Run Coach and a NETA Certified Spin Instructor.

I am a proud “marathoner”, have run countless of half-marathons, participated in one of those crazy “bucket list” Ragner Relay races (never again!) and raced 5Ks to 15Ks. I have also attempted a duathlon, but quickly found that despite loving indoor cycling, I do not have the same passion for outdoor cycling. In short, I love racing. I love the range of emotions race day brings from anxiety to exhilaration. I feel a sense of gratitude each time I am able to cross that finish line and love helping others experience those same feelings.

Coaching Style

As my life changes, my running style and coaching style has evolved with it. One thing that has remained constant, however, is my passion for the sport of running. Running is a sport I have fought to come back to multiple times after injuries, two pregnancies and postpartum recoveries. I have learned a wealth of knowledge through these transitions and have made it my mission to share both my knowledge and passion with others interested in this sport.

My personality compliments my coaching style which can easily be summed up as “compassionate yet firm". Any runner athlete who entrusts their training to me will get the time, focus and critical feedback necessary to help them achieve their goals.

Prior to starting “You RUN You", I worked in corporate finance for 10 years and am a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. You might be wondering, “How does that correlate to run coaching?” The answer: Data Analytics. I specialize in interpreting, analyzing and improving on actions based on data analytics. With the SMART technology used by the average runner today, there are endless data points to utilize for continued, long-term, personal growth.
